Scouts BSA Winter Camp

December 27, 2024 - December 30, 2024

At the South Texas Council’s Karankawa Winter Camp, Scouts can immerse themselves in a variety of exciting programs tailored to enhance their skills, advance in Scouting ranks, and experience the outdoors in a meaningful way. The camp offers numerous merit badge opportunities, ranging from outdoor skills like Camping and Orienteering to STEM-focused badges such as Robotics and Astronomy. Scouts can also participate in activities like archery, rifle shooting, and fishing, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The camp’s natural beauty provides an excellent backdrop for hikes and conservation projects, enabling Scouts to connect with nature while learning about the local ecosystem and contributing positively to the environment.

Beyond skill-building, the camp emphasizes camaraderie and leadership development. Scouts can bond with peers through team-building activities, campfire programs, and patrol challenges, fostering a sense of unity and Scout spirit. Evening programs like stargazing or night hikes add an element of adventure, while competitions and service projects offer opportunities to showcase teamwork and dedication. For adult leaders, the camp provides leadership training and networking opportunities. Whether working toward rank advancement, engaging in outdoor adventures, or forming lifelong friendships, Camp Karankawa promises a memorable experience for everyone.
